Collection from Greenock, Port Glasgow, Gourock, Kilmacolm and Wemyss Bay. Inverclyde is forty-five minutes from the yard, so we're honest about it, there's a small fuel adjustment for PA13–PA19 rather than pretending the round-trip is free.

Inverclyde isn't Glasgow, so we won't lie about the drive

Most yards advertising "free" scrap collection across Scotland will quietly drop the price at your kerb on the day to recover the fuel cost. We don't. We'll quote you a number that already includes the Greenock or Gourock run, and that's the number you get paid. Expect roughly £15 to £100 off the equivalent Glasgow city quote, the bigger the car the bigger the gap, but it'll be the real number, not a bait-and-switch. Inverclyde scrapping, common questions

Why is the Inverclyde price a wee bit lower than Glasgow?

Because Greenock and Gourock are forty-five minutes off the M8 from the yard. The round-trip eats fuel and tyre wear, so we knock somewhere between £15 and £100 off the quote depending on the car's size, honestly, up front, rather than dropping it at your kerb on the day. The quote you get on the phone is the quote you get paid.

I'm at the top of Greenock — those streets are steep, will the truck handle it?

Yes. We've done collections up the West End, Larkfield and out towards Whinhill. The recovery setup is rated for steep gradients and our driver does this run weekly. Tight Greenock back-lanes are fine as long as we can get within ten metres of the car.

Will you cover Kilmacolm or Wemyss Bay?

Yes. PA13 (Kilmacolm) and PA18 (Wemyss Bay) are both in the same trip. Wemyss Bay adds 15 minutes past Gourock; Kilmacolm's a slight detour up the A761. Same fuel-adjusted pricing applies.

Do you go to Dunoon or Bute?

No, the ferry crossing pushes the economics into territory where we'd be quoting more than the car's worth. We'll happily take a car that's already been brought over to the Inverclyde mainland though, just get it to Gourock and we collect from there.

Port Glasgow has a fair few abandoned cars in older estates, will you take one with no V5?

Yes. Bring a driving licence plus a utility bill showing your address as the location where the car has been parked, that's normally enough to confirm ownership. If you bought the car off Gumtree five years ago and never registered it, mention that, we can work out the Section 9 paperwork together.
