Who this is for

Single car to scrap? Use scrap my car Glasgow. This page covers commercial salvage: body shops, leasing decommissions, insurer compounds, fleet operators, council and NHS sub-fleets, private-hire end-of-life. The regulatory walkthrough lives on our ATF process page so we don't duplicate it here. Email info@centralbeltsalvage.co.uk with vehicle volume + locations and we'll come back with a structured proposal within two working days.

Glasgow dismantling, common questions

We're a body shop in Tradeston / Kinning Park / Govan, how does direct collection work?

The customer authorises us to collect from the shop, we pay the customer by bank transfer, the shop avoids storing a write-off it'll never recover repair costs on, and we handle the DVLA steps. Tradeston, Kinning Park and the Clyde Gateway estates are close enough to pair into a morning route, which keeps the per-vehicle cost lean.

What's the difference between Cat S, N, B and A, and do you take all of them?

Cat S = structural damage repairable with disclosure on resale. Cat N = non-structural damage, no disclosure required. Cat B = body shell must be destroyed but mechanical parts can be reused. Cat A = the whole vehicle must be destroyed; nothing reusable. Cat A and B need strict destruction and paperwork matching, so mention the category before we quote.

Glasgow City Council and other public-sector fleets, do you do volume contracts?

Yes, we can discuss volume work for council, housing-association, university and healthcare sub-fleets. Public-sector procurement is stricter on the audit-trail side, so we agree the disposal register and paperwork requirements before accepting the job.

We run a private-hire firm with hybrid Toyotas heading to end of life. What's your offer?

End-of-life Prius, Auris and Lexus CT200h hybrids can still have battery and parts value beyond the shell. Send the reg, rough mileage and fleet count, and we'll quote a per-vehicle rate rather than guessing.

What about logistics and last-mile delivery van fleets?

Predictable end-of-life cycles, easy to plan around. Common stock from Glasgow logistics yards: Combo, Doblo, Berlingo, Caddy, Connect, Vivaro, Transit Connect. Smaller vans tend to have decent residual value in their drivetrains, so parts-revenue-share contracts often work better than flat scrap rates for these.
