Free scrap car collection across Edinburgh, no kerb-side deductions

EH1 through EH54 are inside the free-collection zone. We run Edinburgh collections twice a week (Tuesday and Friday) from our Glasgow base, so the slot might be one or two days out, but the quote is the quote, no fuel charge added on the day.

Why the cadence isn't daily and what that buys you

Driving Glasgow to Edinburgh and back is a 90-mile round-trip. Yards that claim daily Edinburgh collection are either local to Edinburgh (in which case great) or they're quietly recovering the fuel cost on the day with deductions. We batch Tuesday and Friday runs, which lets us hold prices at parity with Glasgow rather than charging a stealth surcharge. The ATF process is identical either side.

Edinburgh-specific quirks we handle

Old Town and New Town tenements come with residents'-permit zones, sett streets and tight closes. We've done collections from every type. If your car is on a permit-only bay we'll usually arrange a temporary trade permit via the council, or pair the collection with another nearby job so the truck doesn't need to park. Cash for cars angle: cash for cars Edinburgh. Standard scrap framing: scrap my car Edinburgh.

Free collection Edinburgh, common questions

Is the Edinburgh price really the same as Glasgow?

For most cars, yes. The batched Tuesday and Friday runs let us absorb the M8 fuel cost without bumping the customer-facing price. Very low-value cars (£100-ish) sometimes come in £10-15 lower in EH than the equivalent G postcode, because fuel becomes a larger share of margin.

What happens if I need same-day collection?

If a Tuesday or Friday slot is open we can usually fit you in. Outside those days we'd recommend booking the next batch rather than overpaying for an emergency run. If you genuinely need it gone today, tell us why and we'll see what's possible, no promises.

Can you reach Musselburgh, Dalkeith, Bonnyrigg?

Yes. EH21 (Musselburgh) and EH22 (Dalkeith) are part of the standard Edinburgh run. EH19 (Bonnyrigg) and the EH26/EH28 outer postcodes are slightly off-route but still inside the free zone, the truck just adds 15 minutes to the loop.

My car is on a residents' permit street in Stockbridge / Newington, will the truck struggle?

Stockbridge and Newington tenements come up regularly. We'll either arrange a temporary trade pass with the council (3-5 working days notice) or pair the collection with a Leith / Portobello job that gets us parking elsewhere. Most permit-zone collections happen without issue.

Do you handle the DVLA paperwork for Edinburgh customers?

Same as Glasgow customers. We handle the V5C Section 9, you keep your top-half tear-off, we send the disposal-route confirmation within seven working days. If the V5C is missing, your driving licence and a utility bill at the registered address is usually enough.
