Why parts pay better than scrap

A breakers yard pulls reusable engines, gearboxes, doors, ECUs and trim before the shell goes for metal recovery. That's why we can pay over scrap value when your car is one of the models parts customers actively buy. Need a part? WhatsApp the part name plus the donor car's reg to 07946 135229 , we check stock, send photos, quote with next-day shipping. 30-day warranty on mechanical parts; 90-day for trade accounts.

Edinburgh breakers, common questions

How often do you collect from Edinburgh?

Two or three times a week, usually batched so we can plan a clean route across the city in one trip. New Town, Leith and Portobello tend to fall into the same morning run; Morningside, Marchmont and Corstorphine into another. If you're in a hurry we'll do a one-off run, but pairing up keeps the quote sharper for everyone.

We're in a controlled parking zone, is that a problem?

No, but it shapes the timing. Most of central Edinburgh sits inside a CPZ, which means we either need a permit-holder bay we can use briefly or we collect early before the bays fill. If your street is residents-only with no visitor allowance, message us first and we'll plan accordingly. It's a five-minute load, not a half-day operation.

Do you cover Leith, Portobello, Musselburgh too?

Yes. Leith (EH6) and Portobello (EH15) are part of the standard Edinburgh run. Musselburgh and the East Lothian fringe (EH21–EH22) we'll pair up with an Edinburgh job where the timings work, collection might be next-day rather than same-day, but no fuel charge.

Can I drive the car to your yard instead?

If it's roadworthy and you fancy a drive west, yes, our yard's near Fort William, but most Edinburgh customers find collection easier than the M9/A82. Either way the price is the same. If you do drive in, we'll meet you at the gate, sort the paperwork, count the notes (or BACS the same hour), and you're back on the train.

Do you ship parts back over to Edinburgh customers?

Yes, daily. Parts move via APC Overnight or Parcelforce 48, Edinburgh customers usually have items by the next working day. Smaller bits (lights, mirrors, ECUs, sensors) ship for £8–£15. Engines, gearboxes and full panels go on a pallet for around £45–£75 depending on size.
