// Non-runners

Scrap a non-runner or old project car

Dead on the driveway, half-restored in the garage, off the road since before you can remember, we collect it. No start needed, no MOT, no keys, no fuss. We winch it on and pay you the same day.

"It doesn't run" is not a problem

Non-runners are the bread and butter of a working yard. The car that wouldn't start one winter and never moved again, the project that ran out of time or money, the inherited runaround nobody wants, we take all of it. The car only needs its wheels to roll and its steering to unlock, and where even that's seized we bring a dolly. If the V5C or keys are long gone, we can still scrap it.

// We collect these daily

The awkward ones welcome

Dead non-runners
Won't start, flat battery, seized, no problem, we winch.
Half-finished projects
Engine swaps, restorations that stalled, parts in the boot.
Long-dormant cars
SORN'd for years, sitting on a driveway since who-knows-when.
Barn-finds & spares
The runaround behind the shed, the spare that never got used.
No paperwork
Lost V5C, no keys, never registered, all handled on proof of ownership.
Awkward access
Back-courts, tight closes, behind gates, up a slope, we bring the kit.

Before you crush a classic

If there's genuine restoration or parts value, we'd rather you got paid for it than see it crushed. Send photos and the reg (or chassis number) and we'll be honest about whether it's a scrap job or worth more to an enthusiast first. Either way, the practical bits are the same: a firm quote, free collection and same-day payment. Start with scrap my car Glasgow, Edinburgh, the step-by-step guide, or read up on SORN if the car's been laid up.

Non-runners & project cars, common questions

Will you collect a car that doesn't run?

Yes, that's most of what we do. The car doesn't need to start, doesn't need an MOT, doesn't need a battery, doesn't even need fuel. We winch it onto the truck. The only mechanical requirement is that the wheels roll and the steering unlocks, and if even that's a problem (seized wheels, for instance) we bring a dolly. A flat, dead car on a driveway is a routine collection.

What about an old project car I never finished?

Bring it on. The half-restored classic, the engine swap that stalled, the box of parts in the boot, we collect all of it. We'll take the car with whatever's loose inside as long as you tell us up front. If there are decent salvageable parts you'd rather sell separately, mention it and we'll factor that into the conversation rather than just crushing the lot.

Is a classic or rare car worth more than scrap?

Sometimes, yes, if there's genuine restoration or parts demand it can be worth well above scrap value, and we'd rather pay you fairly for that than crush something valuable. Send photos and the reg (or chassis number for an older car) and we'll tell you honestly whether it's a scrap job or whether you'd do better selling it to an enthusiast or breaker first.

The car has been off the road for years with no V5C, can you still take it?

Yes. Long-dormant cars with lost logbooks are one of the most common things we collect. Bring whatever proves it's yours, a driving licence plus a utility bill at the address where it's been parked is usually enough, and we scrap it on the DVLA's no-V5 route. See our page on scrapping with no keys or V5 for the detail.

How do I get a non-runner off an awkward spot, behind a gate or up a close?

Tell us the access situation when you book and we'll bring the right kit. We collect from back-courts, tight closes, behind locked gates (with your key or arrangement), sloped driveways and the side of the road. If it genuinely can't be reached by the truck we'll use the winch line or the dolly to get it out to a loadable spot.
