Falkirk scrapping, common questions

Do you cover all FK postcodes?

Yes, FK1 through FK6. Anything in the Falkirk Council area is free collection. Slamannan and the wee outlying villages take longer to fit in, so we'll usually book those a day ahead rather than promising same-day.

I'm in Grangemouth, are old refinery-area cars worth more for the metal?

Sometimes. A 2010s diesel that's been on Grangemouth shift work usually has higher mileage but well-maintained engines, the cat converter and turbo still have decent secondary-market value. We'll quote against the reg rather than against assumptions.

Will you collect from Bo'ness or Polmont?

Yes. Bo'ness adds about 15 minutes to the route from Falkirk centre and Polmont's basically on the way to Edinburgh, so both are fine for free collection. The same-day rule applies, call before lunchtime.

My car failed its MOT at the Larbert test centre and won't drive, can you collect from there?

Yes, that's normal for us. If you've just failed and the car's still at the MOT bay, we can collect direct from the garage with your authorisation. It saves you having to recover it home first, which can be the most expensive bit of a failed MOT.

Do you do trade pickups for Falkirk garages who've got customers' write-offs sitting in their compound?

Yes. We work with several Falkirk and Stenhousemuir garages on direct collection from compound. The garage gets the space back, the customer gets paid by bank transfer, and we sort the DVLA paperwork. Email the yard if you want to set up a recurring arrangement.
