End-of-year fleet disposal, Scotland

For lease companies, courier operators, NHS estates, taxi associations and anyone running a fleet through the March cycle. Bulk collection, consolidated paperwork, single invoice cycle, accountant-ready documentation.

Why end-of-year fleet work is its own beast

Single-vehicle scrap is one workflow. Twenty vehicles at month-end is a different operation: scheduled transport, consolidated paperwork, accountant-friendly documentation, and the right answer when the compliance team asks where each VRM ended up. We handle the operational side so the fleet manager isn't chasing thirty individual paper trails.

Fleet de-fleet, common questions

What fleet sizes do you handle?

From 5-vehicle one-offs through to recurring monthly de-fleet cycles of 20+. The economics work above 5 because we can dispatch a transporter rather than running individual recovery trips. Smaller cycles use our standard recovery fleet; larger ones we coordinate with a flatbed transporter for a single batched collection.

How does the end-of-financial-year timing actually work?

Most fleet operators want vehicles off the books by 31 March for capital allowances. We start booking March slots from January, because by late February the recovery capacity tightens across the industry. If you've got a March de-fleet cycle, get a slot booked by mid-February to guarantee the window.

Per-unit pricing or revenue share?

Both available. Per-unit (flat rate per VRM) works for predictable stock: ex-courier vans, ex-private-hire saloons, ex-lease company cars where the condition is consistent. Revenue share (base rate + % of parts pulled) works for mixed stock with potentially salvageable drivetrains, infotainment systems, ECUs. We'll model both for your stock and recommend the one that pays your operation more.

What's included in the paperwork pack for the accountant?

Per-vehicle: collection acknowledgement signed at compound, V5C Section 9 (or disposal report for missing V5C cases), Certificate of Destruction within 7 working days. Per cycle: consolidated invoice, disposal register with VRM/VIN/date/route per row, summary letter suitable for inclusion in capital allowances workings. The accountant gets one envelope per de-fleet cycle, not 30 individual files.

Can you handle EV vans (electric Vivaros, Berlingos, Combos)?

Yes, with the standard EV battery handling protocol. Send VRMs and battery state of health readings (most fleet management systems can export this) and we quote against the pack condition. Electric vans at end-of-fleet typically have better battery health than passenger EVs because van duty cycles are shorter, so they often clear higher per-unit prices than equivalent passenger cars.

Do you collect from outside the Central Belt for fleet contracts?

Yes. Routine work stays inside Glasgow/Edinburgh/Lanarkshire. Fleet contracts extend the radius to Borders, Highlands and Aberdeen where the volume justifies it. Recovery cost is included in the contract per-unit rate; we don't quietly add fuel charges per pickup.

Insurance and compliance documentation we provide?

Current employer's liability certificate, public liability certificate, SEPA waste-carrier registration, partner ATF licence reference. All available on request as part of the contract sign-off pack. Renewals are tracked annually with documented evidence provided proactively.
